  Imagine the world without colours. Imagine if the apple was not red or the grass was not green, imagine a world in monotone. Gosh! There will be very little left to imagine! Colours are the foundations of our imagination; they not only add vibrancy to our surrounding but characterize and define our system. But the character of colours is not just in its appearance, the science is much more holistic and much deeper.  
  Have you ever wondered why hospitals are painted green? Or school walls are painted blue? Or why saints prefer to wear white? These are not just rooted in tradition but part of a science that has developed over centuries and across civilizations, which has taught us the significance of colours and ways for harmonizing it in our lives. Colour is a very powerful force and its immense significance can be felt in our day to day lives.  
  Colours may seem subtle but have deeper and long lasting impact. It is a wonderful natural force that we can harness to help us lead a happy and healthy life. As proved by research, the different colour wave-lengths found in sunlight permeate our bodies and affect our primary functions including our growth, sleep and appetite, circulation, nervous system and immune functions. A balance of colour energy is critical for us to feel the zest for life and enjoy good health. Correspondingly an imbalance in colour manifests into diseases and disorders affecting our mental and emotional state. Thus building colour harmony is essential for total wellbeing and the science of Colour Therapy aims at establishing this fundamental harmony.  
  Learning about colours and their therapeutic & primary properties helps us understand and interact with our environment in an effective manner. For healthy and happy life, it is inferred that all the colours are to be balanced to each other in specific ratio. By learning how each colour influences us, we can effectively use them to give us an extra boost of energy when we need it. Colour therapy uses the sensitivity of a person to colour to identify and correct any imbalance in the body’s internal energy patterns that may be the cause of emotional or physical ill health.  
 

This ‘Colour Therapy’ initiative by Jenson & Nicholson aims at increasing the awareness about colours, their affects, advantages and disadvantages. It aims at making you more aware.
